Listed here are popular words used in university and college entrance exams and are the basic vocabulary words you will want to incorporate into your wealth of knowledge; in essence, what to study before you study.

How to use this guide

Studying for an exam such as one of the listed above can be very overwhelming and a huge, daunting task if you have not prepared at all. You know that these tests will be coming up in the next couple of years? Months? Days?  Regardless, before you spend a bunch of money on test books and online courses, take a breath and check out the list of words here. It has been split up into three separate lists; the first list has popular words that are used in business environments, the second is a list of popular GRE and third SAT.   Copy down the word, then look up the definition, Making the process a part of your study. Recipe cards are very handy for this function; write the words on one side and definition on the other. Learn which part of speech the word is, along with the definition, and obviously, the spelling. This will give you the ability to get a head start before spending a bunch of money.
