At Home: 5 Ideas on How to Heal Dandruff

Dandruff is the itching and flaking of skin from the scalp. Dandruff is sometimes a chronic condition that can be caused by blocked hair follicles as a result of dehydration or oily scalp.
Here are 20 different ways to get rid of dandruff by using items you may (or may not) have at home.
Aloe Vera
1. Use Aloe Vera gel or oil and rub into scalp. Leave it on overnight, and shampoo out in the morning.
Apple Cider Vinegar
2. Apply apple cider vinegar diluted 50% with water to the scalp and let dry. Do not rinse.
3. Pour two tablespoons into a cup, applying the straight vinegar to the scalp, and leaving it on from 15 minutes to three hours before shampooing.
4. Pour apple cider vinegar directly into conditioner and use daily.
Aspirin
5. Crush two aspirins into the daily shampoo amount you use. Leave it on for 20 minutes then rinse. Wash hair with shampoo to make sure all the aspirin is out.
Beets
6. Boil white beet roots in water and rub onto scalp daily
Coconut Oil
7. Massage Coconut Oil into scalp daily and leave on for at least 30 minutes.
8. Apply warmed coconut oil to lemon juice (2 lemons). Leave in hair for two hours then shampoo.
Ginger
9. Add ginger root to olive oil and rub onto scalp. The worse the dandruff, the longer the leave in time, up to about 15-20 minutes.
Grapefruit Seed Extract
10. Add 7-10 drops into your daily shampoo amount. Leave on hair a couple of minutes then rinse.
Lemon
11. Cut lemon into small pieces; rub the lemon and juice into scalp. Leave in for an hour then rinse it with water.
Listerine
12. Pour or spray onto scalp but do not use if skin is broken.
Olive Oil
13. Mix together 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 teaspoon of lime juice. Apply to the hair and massage into the scalp. Tie old scarf or cloth of any kind around your head, and shampoo the following morning.

14. Massage Preparation H ointment into your hair and scalp. Takes about a week.
Rosemary Rub
15. Mix Olive oil with Rosemary and rub onto scalp. Leave on for 15 minutes before shampoo.
Sweat Almond Oil
16. Combine 1 teaspoon sweet almond oil and 8 - 10 drops tea tree oil. Massage into scalp and leave it in for 30 minutes. Shampoo twice and condition as usual.
Sage Tea
17. Steep sage tea and apply to hair after shampooing. Do not rinse.

Tea Tree Oil
18. Add drops of tea tree oil to any shampoo; use daily or alternate with another shampoo.
19. Rub a few drops of tea tree oil directly into the scalp.
Thyme
20. Steep Thyme tea, then allow to cool. Massage into clean, damp hair; do not rinse.
